Study Purpose

Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency (NCTPA) has initiated a study in the City of American Canyon to evaluate existing transit services, identify travel patterns, and assess future needs. The study will assess the local demographics profile and evaluate the performance of existing transit services, including the American Canyon Transit (ACT) Shuttle, also known as “The Duck,” and Napa VINE Routes 10 and 29.

Thanks to the residents who attended the workshop and participated in our online survey - community input helped to shape the American Canyon Report.

Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency has completed its study of American Canyon which evaluated transit service and travel patterns and future needs. The NCTPA Board adopted recommendations for the American Canyon study that focus on traditional fixed route local bus service within the City of American Canyon. Residents traveling to Vallejo would transfer to Vallejo transit. Seniors and those with disabilities will be provided door to door service to Vallejo using VineGo.

Some improvements prompted immediate action. When classes resumed this fall, NCTPA launched peak hour service for American Canyon high school. Success is noticeable as larger buses are used to meet high ridership.
