Study Purpose

Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency (NCTPA) has initiated a study in the City of Calistoga to evaluate existing transit services, identify travel patterns, and assess future needs. The study will assess the local demographics profile and evaluate the performance of existing transit services, including the Calistoga HandyVan, and Napa VINE Routes 10 and 29.

Handy Van shuttle riders were happy to hear that NCTPA is committed to continue service to mobile home parks and provide
door to door service to many locations.

Residents, including transit users and bicyclists, attended an open house to learn about the study and express their views on
the transit needs of Calistoga.

With a draft report soon available, the NCTPA continues to gather input from the community. This input will continue to refine the draft alternatives which will be presented in a  draft report in December 2010-January 2011. After hearing public response to draft plans, the NCTPA will adopt a service alternative.
